Vietjet launches new route connecting Ho Chi Minh City and Osaka (Japan)

Ho Chi Minh City-Osaka route will operate daily return flights from December 14, 2018

(Ho Chi Minh City, December 14, 2018) – Following the launch of a new Hanoi-Osaka route in November, today the new age carrier Vietjet officially opened a new service linking Ho Chi Minh City and Osaka City, further contributing to the promotion of tourism, trade and integration between Vietnam and Japan and across the region.

A jubilant opening ceremony for the inaugural flight took place at Kansai International Airport (Osaka) with the participation of Mr. Luu Duc Khanh, Managing Director of Vietjet, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Son, Vice President of Vietjet, Mr. Gregory Jamet, Chief Commercial Officer at Kansai Airports and Mr. Kawai Yoshinori, representatives from Japan’s Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport, and Tourism.

 

On this occasion, passengers on the flight from Ho Chi Minh City to Osaka were treated to cosplay performances showcasing Japanese culture to all travelers from Vietnam and Japan as well as international passengers right onboard Vietjet’s inaugural flight. In addition, passengers on this flight and the return flight from Osaka to Ho Chi Minh City received charming souvenirs from Vietjet.

The Ho Chi Minh City-Osaka route operates daily return flights from December 14, 2018 with a flight time of more than five hours per leg. The flight departs Ho Chi Minh City each day at 1.40am and arrives in Osaka at 8.30am. Coming in the other direction, the flight takes off in Osaka at 9.30am and lands in Ho Chi Minh City at 1.30pm (all in local times). Tickets are on sale at www.vietjetair.com.

Vietjet’s Hanoi-Osaka route operates a return flight on a daily basis with a flight time of more than four hours per leg. The flight departs Hanoi each day at 1.40am and arrives in Osaka at 7.50am. Coming in the other direction, the flight takes off in Osaka at 9.20am and lands in Hanoi at 1.05pm (all in local times).

For the Osaka-Hanoi route, Vietjet and Japan Airlines have cooperated to offer a code-share flight service. The two airlines also offer code-share flights on Vietjet’s domestic routes, including Hanoi-Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi – Danang and Ho Chi Minh City – Danang. The airline will launch a new route connecting Hanoi and Tokyo (Narita) on January 11, 2019.
